Hi there Pomelo!

I'm Eliana :)

I am a seasoned design leader, and also the youngest in a family of many women. I’ve seen many pregnancies - and I’ve realized how scary, and overwhelming the motherhood journey is - women's health journeys overall.

So I got certified as a yoga teacher and began creating spaces for women to come together, re-center, and find support in each other. My next goal is to use my design skills to help transform women's health journeys further.

Through my past experiences, I’ve delivered onboarding experiences that inspire trust and simplify complex concepts and processes, I have designed internal tools for thousands of employees, I have designed multi-sided platforms that allow customers to connect and communicate with service providers, and I’ve run the operations of rapidly growing design teams to work fully cross-functionally across departments.

I am certain these experiences, along with my commitment to improving the maternal experience - especially for the women I care for, and for future me whenever she’s ready to start a family - will be a great asset to Pomelo Care.

Mapping the women's health ecosystem

Maps are not the territory, but they sure help in navigation. In my research on women's health, I've been mapping out (at a high level), the different journeys women go through, throughout the different stages of their lives (from first menstruation to fertility, pregnancy, and menopause) and the different players serving each stage.

Connecting craft SMBs to resources

There are a myriad of non-profits specialized in helping SMBs at different stages, but it's overwhelming for SMBs to know where to go. With the Global Shapers Miami, and local partners, I'm leading an initiative to build a Gen AI-enabled chatbot that will help SMBs navigate to the appropriate resource for them.

Beyond product life.

We work with full people, not just product robots -for now at least. So here's a fuller picture of me outside of my work and resume:

I believe in living life with balanced intensity, which means savoring every moment, pushing myself, and going off on adventures...while being in bed by 9 pm.
